You could try covering with a strong bleach (the thick kind), leaving for a few minutes and washing off with plenty of water.

Often this only does part of the job. You can buy touch-up sticks which apply a coat of white over the top of the stained grout. That is probably the best bet. Make sure that you treat the mildew in the grout first.

The ultimate way is to rake out all the grout and regrout. It's not a task to be undertaken lightly!

What I have used for mildew and other spots is Tilex. Leave it on after you get out of the shower (make sure to open a window or turn on the vent cause of its strong smell) and when you get in the shower later just wet and brush off. Might have to repeat a couple of times but it works.

Worst scenario...remove the caulking and replace with a new one. If you need help of more advice go to your local hardware store. Also check out these websites...they give you information on small projects.

Good luck.

Try mixing up bicarbonate of soda with water into a paste using a toothbrush. Have u tried bleach. If nothing works 4u then regrout using good quality waterproof pure white grout. Tip, make sure u have heat in bathroom while u have a bath or shower, also is there a fan in the room?

I have had the same problem and found the only product that worked is Dettol Mould and Mildew remover.
Hardly any work involved just spray on the grouting, leave for a few minutes, get an old toothbrush and just brush it away, rinse well.
Good luck, hope it works for you.

you can buy a mould and mildrew remover in any supermarket in the UK, this will kill off the fungus, you may need to do it a few times. Then the best solution is to remove the old and contaminated grout and re do it. Check that your grout has an fungiside in it. Also try to keep the bathroom aired, open a window or get an extractor fan installed to reduce the damp atmosphere that mould likes to grow in.

Use a solution of milton sterilising fluid taking care not to get anyone yourself. Leave for as long as possible (overnight) then rinse off and clean with cloth. This will discourage this brown stuff as you call it for some weeks. However, you will have to repeat at regular intervals. This brown mildrew is likely to more prevelant if the bathroom is cold.

Use some type of bleach product to kill off the mildew then get a grout sealer and seal the grout so it wont come back.

I would use an anti-mildew spray, such as Tilex, along with a stiff-bristled brush. It'll work wonders.

bleach and scrubbing. you really need to clean frequently to aviod the build up as you may not be able to clean it if you wait too long. Also try a magic eraser (mr.clean) they actually do work for a lot of things but im not sure about that

Try bleach and a scrubbing brush and about 10 hours! It'll be worth it in the end :)
