I recently have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. I have a mechanical fuel pump mounted to the engine.(not an electric fuel pump) When I keep my foot on the gas pedal it stays running but when I am driving it "Pops" and I have to mess with the amount I press the Pedal for it to continue down the road smoothly. PLEASE HELP !!!

Two things come to mind here. First, if it's got a carburetor on it, the carb could be out of whack and need both cleaned as well as rebuilt. Second, if it's fuel injected, the injectors may need some T.L.C. along with the fuel deliver line and fuel return line. Other than that, it could be just as simple as a tune up and oil change too.

A common problem with the carburetor is the float sinks and it runs rich and dies at stop signs.Get a carb.kit that includes the float and install it or have someone do it.First check all vacuum lines for correct tight connections and see if condition improves.
