You need to do a little research - ask lots of questions at the consultation. Inquire about his/her medical degree, training, experience, certifications, etc. Ask to see before and afters of previous patients and even if you might be able to speak with a previous patient. (Try to get someone who had the same procedure you're considering.) See what you can find online as well - sites like http://www.signatureforum.com and http://www.plasticsurgeryportal.com feature plastic surgeons around the country and provide details about them, their work, their specialties, etc. They also have patient satisfaction feedback and ratings. Just be smart, do your research, and you'll make a good choice. Best!

Contact the board of plastic surgeons and ask about the surgeon- see if there were any complaints filed against him. Also ask someone who already went to the doctor if they were happy with the results- it's always good to get recommendations from someone you know personally.

Just ask him of the people who recently had had him for something, if he says there were no others, I wouldn't have him, or you could ask where he went to get his plastic surgery license and ask a teacher if he was a good student with excellent success.

I just had this done. My doctor was a dink but he did a wonderful job. I asked for photos of his work and a few references. He also told me to look at www.implantinfo.com to pick out a few that I liked. It was awkward but I needed to show him what I wanted mine to look like. Good luck!! Plan on alot of recovery time!
