Definitely use the Euros, that way if you decide to visit anywhere else in Europe you don't have to worry about changing your money anywhere. Not all countries will take the dollar anymore. The euro is accepted in almost all european countries, ( not all are a part of the EU yet) but even those that don't use it yet are more accepting of the euro than they are of the dollar.

Euros are best. You will not get a good exchange rate with dollars and most stores will not accept them.

No one wants the dollar any place in the world. Today it will cost you $1.30 to get 1 Euro.

Euros - it's the local currency. US dollars are not accepted as tender in the Netherlands.
