All the major high street retail banks have current accounts that allow you to bank online. They also provide a debit cards. You may have to pop into a branch to sign the paperwork to open the account (check their websites as they may post the forms to you to sign) but once done, there is no need to walk into a branch again.

www.halifax.co.uk

you can apply for your account there online ..but as with all banks according to the money laundering rules they will have to verify your name and address.
You can either send them off or pop into your bank after opening the account online and get them to key it for you ..it will only take about 5 mins
