A Core 2 Duo processor is much better because effectively, it's like having two seperate 2GHz processors, vs just one with a Centrino. Both have massive L2 Cache so they will perform well, but the Core 2 Duo would be better.

Hope this helps!!

There is no such thing as a Centrino processor. Centrino is a branding name created by Intel for laptops that meet certain requirements. To be branded a Centrino, the laptop must have a certain type of processor, a certain chipset, and a certain type of wireless internet. Core 2 Duo is the name of the processor, and it qualifies under the processor category for Centrino. Hence, while one computer may so Centrino and the other Core 2 Duo, they are still actually using the same processor.
