No. No team has ever played in the Super Bowl when it was the host city. There were two occurances however where the Super Bowl was played in a neutral site near a Super Bowl team's home. Super Bowl XIV, with the Los Angeles Rams, was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Super Bowl XIX, with the San Francisco 49ers, was played in Palo Alto at Stanford University's Stanford Stadium .

No. But, I believe in 1980 Pasadena (The Rose Bowl) hosted the Super Bowl, when the LA Rams played Pittsburgh. Pasadena is about 20 Miles from Los Angeles. That is probably the closest a team came to playing at home during the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XI came very close. The Raiders played Minnesota in Pasadena which was just like a home game for the Raiders.

no in many situations they decide on a stadium of a collection that's no longer doing to correctly it extremely is for 2 reasons first so as that no group going to the Superbowl might have living house container benefit 2nd by way of fact the communities and cites who are not doing so properly can extremely use the greater desirable earnings the Superbowl will convey yet it extremely is not any longer the only reason they use to p.c.. the region they are going to oftentimes host a Superbowl if a clean stadium is provided that's why Dallas will host in some years

No and even if it happened, it wouldnt be that great of an advantage because these tickets are purchased for years ahead so the "home team" wouldnt have that many fans. For example, me being a colts fan may buy tickets for the 2020 Superbowl which may be in Miami, but if the Dolphins make it, there will be many people that arent fans of that certain team.
