Cuba is excellent value for money, dirt cheap, you take sterling with you and change it in your hotel at the little banks they all have, you don't get ripped off either, you can take your credit cards too but not any that are part of any American banking systems, we were in Cayo Coco for 2 weeks in April last year, we took £500 with us, bought tons of gifts, cigars and did 3 trips and came back with £120, take mossy spray with you, spray your legs from the knee downwards at nights before you go out, we had no trouble with mossies but sand flies are a bit of a pain, mossie spray keeps them at bay, take antihistamine's for a couple of weeks before you go to Cuba that will help to keep the sandflys from biting you, we got advised to do that by well travelled visitors to Cuba in case we ever go again, Avon do a really good after sun with mossie repellent in it which is excellent if you don't want to be troubled with mossie spray, take some cheap bits and bats for your maid too if you can and have the room in your case, take every conceivable toiletry and medication you will need too as its hard to buy either and if you can its really expensive, but the Cuban people are fantastic and will go out of their way to look after you and to make your holiday even more memorable, its a truly amazing place is Cuba, the ocean and beaches are to die for, have a really wonderful time, you will just love Cuba.

Went to Varadero and Havana last September.
Loved Varaderos. Not much to see in Havana.
I loved the weather, people, hotel but found there wasn't much to buy there unless you like cigars and rum.
Its pretty good value for money. We went all inclusive to the Sandals resort and we tipped when we got good service and at the end of the holiday. A little bit of advice, take extra soap and toiletries as they are very expensive there and fairly rare so are good to keep in bags and give to friendly locals.
Enjoy yourself.....not too many tequilas tho!!!

I love Varadero.. I was born in Cuba so we would go almost every month. In my opinion, it's the best beach I've ever been to.
Trust me, you'll fall in love with it

Yes great value but a word of warning: limit yourself to three Coco Locos a day or you will end up in the loo all holiday cos coconut is a natural laxative. I didn't know that til I went there! Have fun.

Cuba is very cheap but for foreigners they have different prices so you don't get all the bargains. My boss and friend have both been there and loved it.

WHOA! You booked way too soon!
Prices come down, especially in August. It is hurricane season! Quick get a refund if you can and buy again in June or early July!
