Ok this is what happens, it's kinda hard to explain. I have a laptop and that may be the problem..... but what happens is as i am typing a letter or really anything that's long, i will be in the middle of a sentence then the curser will move to a differnt part in the paragraph and before i know it, i have started typing in some random spot in the paragraph, so when i am right in the middle of typing, the curser will move up to a word that starts with the same letter as the word i was typing when my curser jumped. This makes it really hard to write e-mails and just letters in general. Hope someone knows that I am talking about. Thanks !

You probably are accidentally touching the touch-keypad on your laptop (which is right under your keyboard). I do that sometimes.

There should be a button that turns the touch keypad off. All you have to do is do that and it should make the problem better.

Your problem is probably that you have a touchpad and either you are knocking it with you palm without realising it, or, that there is something making a contact when it shouldn't be.

You can disable the touchpad, or just be a little more carefull...

To disable it, in your system tray you may have an icon, or if not , in the control panel.

Ask if you need more details on this.

Oh, and you could always replace the touchpad / get it serviced. Servicing probably won't be cheap though, as it takes a long time to get into and out of most laptops.

I have the same problem! I think I pinpointed it down to the palm going over the touchpad and moving the cursor. Try deactivating the touchpad (can't do it on mine). Maybe connect an external keyboard. Hope this helps Colin.

maybe the tab key is stuck

Softly bang all your keyboard keys, now try.
