Return the stupid Wii, and get a PS3!!!

I had a problem the other day where both of my Wii-motes wouldn't make contact with the Wii. The blue lights on the Wii-mote just blinked. I called Nintendo and they told me that the first batch of WIIs have a bug and think they are over synced and won't connect. The solution is to unplug the Wii from the wall outlet for ~35 second and plug it back in. It worked for me.

It happened to me once and I'm not entirely positive what I did but if you take the battery covering off and open up the front case to the wii(where the SD card slot is), both should have red buttons that say SYNC, play around with it trying to hold them down at the same time. The other thing I would try is, if it works, push the home button on the remote and go to wii remote settings, hit reconnect, and it should prompt you to hold down 1&2 at the same time to sync it back up.

Hope that helped

It happened to me. I performed a "hard" boot; meaning, turn off the wii base station, unplug the power cable, and then plugged it back in. This seemed to fix the problem and the wii remote was operational again.

The problem orginally occured for me when the wii was in the middle of trying to connect to the "news channel" and in the middle of the operation I hit the "reset" button.

This must have placed the wii into a funny state.

Sounds like it lost the programming. Follow the instructions it gives to program a remote.

You are supposed to read the manual and find out what the blinking blue light means.

Call the 1-800 # and they will guide you in the necessary steps or replace your remote.

Is it a universal remote? Might need to be reprogrammed if the batteries were removed. Good luck.
