Postmodernism has abolished the need for meta-narratives. Things like Marxism and all that is out-dated, since we live in a society which is global. Accordig to postmodernism, history would have no determined theory behind it. It would simply be "stuff that happened in the past". Questions like "why did that happen" and "what does that mean" are now obsolete.

Since to be modern is to be up to date, how can one be post-modern? what does it mean?
