Ashland Babe ... I had a hard time with IE 7 also, but at the time, IE 6 could still be re-installed. However, it took more than a few mouse clicks. I even had to refer to Microsoft's Knowledge Base to find the fix for de-installing IE 7.

If you loved IE 6, then I won't be able to persuade you. However, have you ever considered using Firefox or Opera? They're both free and each has their advantages.

Firefox is rapidly gaining in popularity because of its power and better resistance to attack. The one feature in Firefox that stands out for me is their built-in spell checker. I'm using it right now. As I type in my answer, should I misspell a word, Firefox will highlight it in red and right-clicking gives you the chance to select the correct spelling.

As for Opera, I depend on it when certain sites can't play their videos in my other browsers. Also, when you use the tile function to display multiple tabs simultaneously, unlike IE 7 where the tile images are only images, in Opera, each tile remains functional and you can select and copy text from one tile window and paste it into another without the hassles caused by the other browsers.

Good luck ... I hope you'll find something that works.

Go into your control panel and un-install IE7. Version 6 should come back.

Just in case, before you do that go and download Firefox or Opera as a second browser.

7 has much better protections built into it. Better just get used to it. You will have to eventually anyway.
