i've answered a few of these valentines questions, and i'm gonna answer the same way now...
a watch.
a watch isnt as "possessive" as a ring, which he might take as you being too forward (assuming you havent been together a long time). a watch doesnt say "i own you" like a ring does, y'know what i mean? theres lots of styles of watches out there, so it shouldnt be too hard to find one he'd like, and the prices range, so you dont need to spend a ton of cash if you cant afford it. he can wear it everyday, its useful, fashionable, all around a good idea. also, you could get him a nice card thats "cute/sexy", or..... well.... i know what I was up to at 17, but i'm not going to tell you what you should be doing at 17 to be "romantic" or "sexy".. lol.

Last year I got my guy a CD he wanted, and I went out for dinner with him and his family. It was really cute. Or you could put a bow on your head and say that you're his v-day present, lol.

Do not get him a "sweater".............maybe a moaner but not a sweater.
Actually, get him a little teddybear and try an in-house, home-cooked meal so you can just hang together.
