I am taking an on-line class and need to scan my homework (which is hand-written) and then send it to my instructor. Do I have to use Microsoft Word, or what? I am computer illiterate when it comes to this. Thanks! :)

In the crontrol panel you should be able to use the printer & scanner wizard. It will walk you through what to do.

You must own a scanner. Open the scannner program and click on file, then click on acquire and it will scan the paper on the scanner bed. The scanner software will allow you to save this as a doc or picture. bmp etc. Give the paper a specific title and make sure to save it somewhere easy to find, for instance in "My Documents". Then go on-line and pull up your e-mail account and when you are ready to send you will have to attach the document. When you hit the attach button you can choose the "My Documents" folder and find the name of your paper. Click on that and it will create the attachment. Then just send the e-mail to instructor.

I use Paintshop Pro to do my scanning but there's more then one program to do it for you.
I would ask someone around you who knows your computer to tell you which program to use.

Ask him wheter you can send it as image or not, If ok, just send your assignment as image ( .JPG or .BMP format is most acceptable).
