I am planning a trip to Orlando for the end of April/early May. I want to spend 4 days at the theme parks in Orlando and also do a cruise. Right now I am thinking of taking a 4 night mid-week cruise out of Port Canavaral to the Bahamas. The only problem I see with this is that this leaves me to explore the Orlando theme parks on the weekend before and after my cruise, since the cruise is from Monday to Friday. There is another cruise option where you can go over the weekend (so then I could go to the theme parks during the week), but it is one night less in length and it is about $100 more per person!

I'm wondering if there is a big difference in theme park busyness at this time of year between weekdays and weekends. I plan to go to Disneyworld (Magic Kingdom), Seaworld, Universal Studios, and Typhoon Lagoon. Is it worth it for me to switch my cruise to avoid lineups? Or is the difference between weekdays and weekends not that much that time of year?

Thank You!!!

during that time of year you really should me OK.... most ppl have their kids in school... it is nearing the end of the year and kids are taking finals etc.... once May begins it gets busier every day as colleges end then high schools .... April is great price time for cruises too!

Weekends are definitely busier than week days but it really should not matter at that time of year... Plan Typhoon Lagoon, and Sea World for Sat and Sun and the others for the other days and it will even lessen potential problems except weather.

It's fine what you're doing right now. If you like slides, I would recommend going to Blizzard beach, instead of Typhoon Lagoon. Typhoon Lagoon has a better, and larger wave pool although. Sea World isn't that great. Universal and Magic Kingdom are. Also, Disney is always busy no matter what time in the year. It could possibly be a little bit busier because of spring break, some are ending around that time, and some are way earlier. It just depends on the schools around America.

Personally, I would NEVER atempt a Disney park on the weekend! I travel to Orlando at one of the slowest times of the year, and I still don't attempt to do it. I have done Animal Kingdom before on a Sunday, and that has been O.K.
Still, I would prefer not to go again. I just don't think you would get your moneys worth!!

If you're not going on Spring Break week then it's worth switching your cruise, but if your going on one of the Spring Break weeks for the schools then go on your cruise during the week. Have fun!

I always recommend that people avoid weekends. April and May is when the heavy crowds start to enter the parks. And the locals take their kids on the weekends as well, so its always best to visit the parks on a weekday.
