Better for whom? It is easier to develop a good marriage when you have had a choice in starting it. Even more so when you already have feeling for the other. But feelings change, people change and situations change. In more tribal cultures where the tribe or family's welfare comes first then you can make an argument for arranged marriages being economically, politically and socially best for the group. Any real marriage takes work. For some it will be easier with a stranger, for most it is easier with someone we truly care about. depending on the challenges the couple have to deal with, either type can fail. Both types can result in happy spouses and happy children, so I wonder if it is all that important which is "better".

Well If you look at the meaning of marriage, the joining of two people who are in love and want to share the rest of their lives together, What do you think? really? How can any thing arranged by someone other than yourself be better in any way?

Yes, simple/ love marriages are the best! Arrange marriages are like imprisonment. Thats the only reason they last so long, keep that in mind. Never get into a relationship that was setup!

Love marriage is much better of course because you are choosing who you love and want to marry and spend the rest of your life with... An arranged marriage is chosen for you and you have no choice in who you marry... It is much harder to have to learn how to love the person you are married to then to love the person you are getting married to!

I think arranged marriages are awful. We're all on this satellite together flying through space, I think love rules all, and no one not even your parents should have a say in your happiness here on Earth.
