Ok "Little Noses" is a saline solution. Saline is perfectly safe for anyone, any age, any time. It's just salty water. They also have a nasal congestant but it very clearly says what age it is for, and it isnt't 6 months because that is about when I was looking.

Your best source of info is your pharmacist. Pharmacists go to school for a long time and study nothing but dosages and side effects. Most of them stay on top of all the current literature. In generally pharmacists know more about drugs than doctors. And talking to a Pharmacist is always free.

Other things to try:
*Tummy time, even for 2 minutes will help the snot drain.
*Steamy bathroom
*Elevate the crib by placing books under the legs (it isn't safe to put anything ON or UNDER the mattress

Of course if you are concerned, or if the snot is green see a doctor.

The Centers for Disease Control just came out with a warning AGAINST giving cough syrup and nasal decongestants to any child under 2 years old because, even on the child dosed medicine, it is easy to overdose. Pseudoephedrine, the substance used in most decongestants has been known to spike infants and toddlers pulse up to 200. Please just use the saline and a humidifier.

No this has been linked to many deaths. The only thing that is safe is saline solution and sucking out the mucus with the bulb. This is gross but necessary so that he can breathe while feeding, because they need to breathe out of their noses. This is why babies are so miserable when they have a cold. Good Luck!

Not one made for adults. I would suggest a saline spray, there's one called Little Noses, that is made for children. It's a mild, natural substance, not medicated. I actually use it myself, and use it on my dog too!

make sure you ask your doctor this one, your baby may be too little to take otc meds. also, if your baby has any unusual health conditions you don't want to give him/her medication over the counter because it could have adverse side effects.
