how do I prevent xp from displaying email alerts when on the logon page. For example under my user name it will display "2 unread mail messages" and then when you click on this it says "so-and-so has 42 unread mail message so-and-so@hotmail.com" Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. Asap - before i go mad!

haha, i have that same problem, what you have to do is go to MSN messenger, go to tools, go to options, go to general, and then disclick the buttion saying logon at start up, then press apply! that problem is annoying!

Download tweakui, there's a feature on there that resets the email alerts, there may be more that disable it altogether.

you can change the settings using tweakui from microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx this allows you to turn off the alert or chnge how many days it will shw emails from
