if you write a 300-400 page book how long should it look on regular printer paper if it was double spaced?????????

It depends on the type of book. The typical font size for a paperback is very small. If that is what you mean, and you were using a size 10 font, and double spacing, one side.....
probably like 600 pages.

A typical submission to a publisher should involve following the guidelines they provide. Alot of publishers request that finished solicited pieces of any drastic Length be sent in 2 separate submissions.
