Sound travels through time and space in the form of sonic ripples. Lets say You are standing 100 feet away from me and set off a firecracker. When you hear the sound - you heard it a few milliseconds after the blast, not when the actual sound was made.

As for hearing a sound before its made - you cant. You cant even hear the sound while in the process of being generated - only after the fact.

You could feel the effects of say - and earthquake or a lightening strike before the sound reaches your ears because light and wave energy supersedes the sound(s) they generate.

My head hurts now, and its your fault for making me go through this. Thank you very much.

if you could somehow make a pitch of sound that has never been made before that would simply be incredible, but alas, our ears only hear a certain range of pitches, the range decreases with age. So the only way to hear a sound that hasn't been made yet...would be to bring it into a pitch range you can hear. Unless of course telepathy was possible, but even then how can we imagine a sound we have never heard?

well if you're considering that "imagine" a future sound, that no past generation has ever heard?

well i would assume you would just have to be in the future, when the euqipment to make this new "sound" is invented. I'm pretty sure this generation is hearing a variety of sounds, that pasrt generations never dreamt of..you understand?
*alert, weird part* take the new equipment back to the past, where those primitive people never saw..they will hear the sound, but basically they equipment haven't been made yet..since it was made in the future. but they can still hear it lol.

According to the laws of physics - you don't. It's like you asked: how can you meet a person who hasn't been born yet? Well, maybe you can, my theory is that nothing is impossible.

You can't, in reality hear a sound that has not been made, but to the extent that you can imagine it, you can hear it.
