If a sign is posted that an item is $10, but the item is really $20 and I want to buy 50 items, can I get all 50 at $10, or do I only get 1 at $10 and the others at the $20. The sign didn't specify if the $10 was per square foot or per piece. The person at the store told me that this was an unintentional mistake and that the Mi pricing law only requires them to sell me one item at the incorrectly signed price. I have searched the gov't web site and cannot find any specifics on this...

It is actually the first item. There was a Wal-Mart three years ago who accidentally priced playstation 2's at 34.99. The scanners were even ringing them up for this. They ended up having to honor that price for one machine each for that entire day. But, they didn't have to sell more than one to the same customer. There was a huge write up about it. I think that Walmart was in Jackson, MI. (Which we lived there for 3 years before moving a few weeks ago to Lansing).

Sorry...

And a side note...even if it were law that you should be able to buy more than one...it's not fair if it was truly an honest mistake. The items these people sell are their lively hood. Imagine if a mistake was made and people got to come take everything out of your house for 10 bucks a piece, when in reality you have a major collection of very expensive items. You couldn't get that money back, and you may not be in a position to earn it back. You'd be screwed. I guess my point is, that even though the law does favor the other side this time, consider the fairness. We shouldn't be taking advantage of people, instead trying to work together.

If a sign is posted then the company has to honor that price! Then they can remove the sign. Not just one item either
