While I wont debate the actions of a man who lived 2000 years ago, I WILL ask this question in response:
WSUSAD? "What Should the USA Do?"
Real Americans shouldn't believe in jailing someone without due process, torturing anyone for any reason whatsoever, or picking on smaller countries, no matter how much oil they have.
Torture, as an interrogation technique, is time consuming and unreliable. You beat someone long enough and hard enough, they'll confess to assassinating King Ferdinand, Santa Claus AND Elvis. Sleep and food deprivation, water tortures, etc. take much too long. Wouldnt it make more sense to be such a great country in the minds of the world, the world would condemn any further attacks on the US? This doesn't mean appeasement, it means dealing fairly and squarely with the rest of the world.
Are you aware most people in the Middle East believe Israel is behind the attacks on Sept 11, and are completely confused as to why the US defends them so vigorously? How can we possibly stop the fighting if we have such incredibly huge communiocation gaps between nations?

Are you also aware most Iraqis don't WANT anymore US troops in their country? They've had quite enough of US "Liberty and Freedom"; after 3 years, still no running water or electricity, etc.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/26/AR2006092601721.html
Although this could be New Orleans as well; Still no electricity, although there is plenty of water still. At least Bush is consistent; NO ONE gets services anymore.

When the president of the United States authorized torture, we, became them. This is not a family value, this is not the United States that I love. The war against terrorism is real and it is brutal but that does not excuse this breach of humanity by us. Human Rights come before Civil Rights this president has set both back many years with his criminal behavior. What is worse is there are people here in the U.S. that condone this behavior. Where is my country heading, I can only imagine the goals of this administration, and it is a dark picture.

No, torture is not a family value...unless one is a part of an extremely twisted and disfunctional family.
Anyone who can condone torturing another human being has abdicated their responsibility to God, and their relationship with the truth.

Someone on Yahoo Answers gave a political website called "politicalcompass.com". Its a test to find where you stand politically and to see where other greats of the world stand.
I took it and rated right in there with Gandi...the peaceful protester of India which is where I think Jesus would rate if he were a real person.
I don't think Jesus or Gandi would be in favor of strong nationalism that would support torture as Jesus' agenda was to "love the whole world." If Christian Americans want to be more like their "JESUS", they need to be more globally minded, turn the other cheek, bless them who persecute them, and judge not lest ye be judged.
American so called Christians are nothing at all like their "Christ" from whom they supposedly take their label "Christian". If someone hits a NEO CON Christian like Bush, rest assured they would hit back and curse the enemy of their country. They don't realize that their "JESUS" represented everything they hate about the Democratic party...soft on crime, share the wealth, forgiveness...
What Bible are the Republicans reading????????????????
Where in the New Testament does it say bomb your enemies???
(The OLD Testament says kill everyone but I thought JESUS came to change all that????)
American Christian Republicans are TWISTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, Jesus never said, "spare the rod and spoil the child" that is so Old Testament where it was okay to not only have abortions but to kill your own children for disobeying you. If you believe in "spare the rod and spoil the child" you should be sacrificing cows and sheep in your back yard the way the "unchanging" God requires. Why did you Christians quit doing that? Maybe it wasn't convenient but beating your kid is...apparently, according to the Bible, you can just beat your kid to death and God will bless you for it. Republican Christians live in the dark ages!!!!!!!!!!

Torture IS family value! Otherwise, why the party of Christian right would support George Bush's torture of 25 million innocent Iraqi civilians, torture of America's poor, torture of American who are in the lower income group, torture of American children under the unfunder/underfunded program "No Child Left Behind"! Why would the Churches in America line behind George Bush if they did not endorse torture ?
Jesus? He would be ashamed to call himself a Christian. And he would side with the ones who were on recieving side of torture. You need proof ? Pope Paul asked the White House not to attack Iraq but this so called born again Christian leader did not listen to him! Why would he ? His plans and orders come from tel aviv, israel!

jesus would be spinning in his grave at what some people call torture and abuse, and what some people dont. He would also say something like "spare the rod and spoil the child". That is to those gits in kalifornia with the "nospanking" law.

It is if it is happening in a deep forest in eastern Europe. Wait, I'm not supposed to know about those CIA torture facilities in Poland. But since the BBC told the world about them, it's okay.
