It's gotta be Letterman. I just love his sense of humor. Offbeat and sooooooo funny! And if Johnny Carson respected his comedic genius and even sent Letterman jokes after his retirement, well...who can argue with the Late Great Johnny Carson?!

CONAN is the KING. I have been watching him for years. I love all the crazy crap he does like the "Walker Texas Ranger" lever, hotmanatee.com porn (LOL), Triumph, the Recliner of Rage, If they Mated...oh the list goes on. I miss Andy Richter on the show as his sidekick, but the show still rules.
I do like Craig Fergueson too tho. I didn't much care for the other guy that used to host that show, Craig Killbourn, except for when his did those panel discussions. Fergueson has that great accent and pretty hilarious monologues, so hes growing on me.
As for Dave and Jay, they can be quite funny too. I just prefer Conan.

David Letterman is the best - no question about it. He's a comic genius. More creative, quick witted, intelligent, etc. He has the best writers too. Plus David donates a lot to charity that he prefers not to talk about, but it gets in the Indy newspapers. And Carson did want David to take over the tonight show. Carson knew the best when he saw it. I would rate Conan second.

Of the ones you listed, Letterman. He was the pioneer that Conan followed. Some of the absurdist things he did were HYSTERICAL.....sidewalk races.....smashing things with trains...etc. Brilliant. Conan has his moments...but he's no where near what Letterman was when he had a 12:30 time slot. Letterman is more watered down now that he has the more mainstream slot. I actually liked Jimmy Kimmel a lot.

David Letterman is my favorite.
For one thing, he was Johnny Carson's choice for his replacement, not Jay Leno.
I have watched Letterman from the beginning when he had a short-lived but very funny daytome show.

definitly Jay Leno because his jokes are always straight on and always up to date with the weiredest news especially the Jay walk thing when he brings those stupid people
