In strings theory does gravity pull on strings?

Strings theory aims to unify quantum physics with gravitation, currently a geometrical theory (Einstein theory of gravitation). It will explain the existence of the intermediate particle of gravitation, the graviton. According to quantified theories, it will explain gravity as other intermediate particles explain other fundamental forces (electromagnetic, strong nuclear, weak nuclear). That does not mean that gravity pull on strings, but that a particular string configuration is the fundamental particle for gravity.
