Sensor broke or froze? Perhaps the emergency brake is stuck?

I'd say there's either a dodgy switch / sensor, the handbrake is jamming slightly, or if they haven't been serviced for a while it could mean pads / shoes are running low on friction material.
Either way it needs to be looked at by a mechanic, seeing as brakes aren't something you want to take any chances with.

There is a micro switch just under the handle. Chances are it needs a minor adjustment so that it clicks off when the handle is all the way down. If it were stuck, as suggested, it would never come on, not be always on.

i own a repair shop, and its probably just a switch stuck on it,there's a small switch by the lower part of the handle of it,and it may just be stuck, those switches hardly ever go out, they do stick once in a while though, good luck i hope this help,s.

Either your hand brake is on or the limit switch/sensor is faulty. In that case replace it.

I would suspect a bad switch somewhere behind that brake handle is bad..

it might be unhooked, bring it in or give it a really close hands on inspection(which might mean you have to take the wheels off)
