Go down to the local drug store and pick up Phenazopyridine (there are a bunch of different brands with this active ingrediant depending where you are from). This is specially made for UTI pain. As for soap, sorry not sure with that one.

All your respondants are full of good ideas. The over the counter medicine for UTI pain is what they said. Its full name besides the generic one mentioned by one guy is Azo Standard. We prescribe it as Pyridium but it is the same. The prescription dose is 200 mg . It comes in the box as 95 mg, so take two of them twice a day for about 2 days is usually what is needed if you get on antibiotics from your doctor. Usually They will prescribe it for women as a call in. (Women have 6 times more UTI then men, just because of the different length of the urethra.) Push fluids... about 8 ounces every hour your awake to flush the bacteria out of your system. Finally if you see your urine as orange do not be frightened that you have blood in your urine. It is just the color that the medications turns your urine. It wll stain permanently your panties so don't wear an expensive pair.(or do the Paris Hilton thing.) Oh one more thing if your trying to avoid more UTI infections in the future consider wearing only panties with a cotton gusset as the nylon and silk will maintain moisture in that area, and will add to the reinfection potential. Cotten permits it to breath and therefore remain dry. The soap thing is also a real consideration. The respondant who mentioned no more soap no more infections is right too. All that hype about being so fresh down there is all advertising to make women feel like they wreak of disgusting oder and fluids from their private parts. That is all such trash. and some men have fallen for it too. Those are not real men by the way. A woman is a woman and that is part of her sexuality. A real man knows that and enjoys her for what it is supposed to be. Do not let that advertising hype get to you. Use your mind as more then a hat rack, think about what is the right thing regarding your body. Some of those feminine hygiene products can cause those irritations as one of the other respondants pointed out not to mention the reality of the bubble bath thing too.

drinking plenty of cranberry juice will help, also you can get a prescription from doctor for this pain,, also sitting in warm water will help, it will help also with the burning when urinating to urinate while in shower, or you can use a squirt bottle, at commode, when using the bathroom. You need antibiotic, wear loose clothes, also be good idea, to make sure it is not a vaginal infection also, also make sure you stay dry, Hope you get relief soon. Soaps with no perfume in it is good , Ivory soap is good also, take showers when possible, people get urinary tract infections, by using bubble bath also.
