Go to INSERT>BREAK and choose the button that says "Section break" after your title page. You can then insert the header in the second section, and it won't appear on the title page.

When you format the first page with the correct header, create a "section break" instead of a "page break" at the end of that page, and then on the second and subsequent pages, create the header that you want to appear from then on.

Another option is to choose the "File, Page Setup" and then choose the "Layout" tab. Check "Different first page". Then you can have whatever header you want on the first page, and the subsequent pages can have something different (which could be nothing if that's what you want).

Dont use headers and footers. Just type it in the main part of the document.
