In general yes, but the tail and fins will not always be as nice as they were before. There are rare exceptions. Use some aquarium salt or melafix to help prevent infection.

All fish have the ability, but some circumstances prevent normal growth or any at all. Bettas are the best at re-growing their fins, as courtship reduce the tail and fins to shreads oft times. Tetras take a lot longer as the fins and tails are generally short and not prone to being damaged.

Without seeing the goldfish it's hard to tell it it has got something wrong or not, however I keep goldfish in a pond and believe it or not when they are young they are completely black, after a year some change to gold whilst others remain black. What you have to remember is that a goldfish is an ornimental carp spieces (correct me if i'm wrong) so in the wild they would be dark in colouration. It could be that the process is in reverse, perhaps it could be the fact they are reverting to thier natural colouration on parts of their body, it would be interesting to see if it darkens any further, but as with anything like this always keep an eye on it .

Yes they do grow back, depending on how much is missing it may grow back a little deformed or be like nothing ever happened. Just make sure the water it is in is very clean so it doesn't get infected.

It will grow back as long as conditions in your tank are good. Make sure it is other fish nipping and not fin rot.

yes it will grow back. you can go with a higher protein diet like frozen bloodworms and melafix to help the problem. i think these people that say fish fins don't grow back don't have fish.
