Go to a book collector and ask. Or you can go to a store that sells old books and see how much their charging for that book to get an idea of how much your book is worth. The value will depend on the condition, printing #, rarity, autographed or not, etc. Unless the book is really, really old, most of them are probably worth cover price or less.

To have any value they need be in very good condition. Go to your local library and you will find books in the reference section on the value of books. A publisher called "Lyle" produced (they may still do) a book of book values for that year. There are other similar and helpful books

Some paperbacks are valuable but hardbacks are far more valuable especially if it's got golden edges to the pages and have photos inside with tissue paper also a page marker. Try to locate an antiquarian book shop or antique shop dealer. Tell him that you're thinking of selling them one day-but you'd like to know what price they could bring.

A dealer in used books could give you an estimate and maybe even offer to buy them if you wish to sell.
