The best QB that is currently playing would hands down have to be Peyton Manning. He has proven himself by posting the single season QB rating record, most yards gained by any rookie, most passes completed by any rookie, most touchdowns thrown in a season, most touchdowns thrown as a rookie, most consecutive games throwing four or more touchdowns, and he shows up every game to play and lead his team to victory. Maybe not in playoffs, but the man we regard as the best QB in the history of the NFL only went to a Super Bowl and never won, well guess what? Peyton Manning is in a Super Bowl, and he never ever blames his teammates for a loss or any other matter in the game. He is a very confident, accurate, non-selfish, and will become the greatest QB in NFL history.

As far as retired QB's. Toss up between Joe Montana and Dan Marino. Marino has all the records and everything, but Joe has four rings and very nice stats as well.

Today - Tom Brady
Why - Because he has won 3 Super Bowls with mediocre and slighty above mediocre players. He has yet to have a top 5 wr or rb on his team. This year the Patriots did not have a 1,000 yard wr nor rb and they still came one game shy of going to the Super Bowl.

All-Time - Roger Stabauch "Captain Comeback"
Why - No lead an opposing team had on him was safe. His teammates had more confidence in him then any other player I've ever seen. He went to 4 Super Bowls in 10 years and won two.

Peyton Manning is the best QB bar none in this league. His is always consistant and he has survived loosing Edgerin James. He broke the TD record and he has many years left in the NFL. Manning second to none!

Tom Brady. He has put up great numbers without having a top 10 wide receiver EVER in his career, without a top 10 tight end EVER, and for the beginning of his career no running game to speak of. Peyton is great, no doubt about it, but he also has weapons everywhere he looks on offense, including two sure hall of famers in Jeff Saturday (center) and Harrison (wr) as well as possibly Reggie Wayne, who is getting better and better. Dallas Clark is also highly underrated at tight end as is Utecht. He also had Edgerrin James, another hall of famer, for the majority of his career.

Brady in that offense would put up similar offenses but also would win a bit more I believe. You cant argue with three rings with mediocre offense talent around you.
