i do not want my hardware to install automatically?

what settings do I change on my pc.

When the New Hardware Found icon appears in system tray, click on that to open New Hardware Wizard. Instead of letting windows find new drivers, click the radio button for I have my own drivers ( or something similar). You can then use the c.d that came with your product or locate a downloaded driver to instal
