Support pro choice and not support the death penalty? To go with the question asked earlier. (I am not picking sides I would just like different views to both questions)

Nostradamus.........if it is all a personal choice between a woman and her doctor and does not affect anyone else, what about the father? Does he have a personal choice at all? If the time is not right for her fine, but wat if it is for her? Why is it okay for the Government to legislate when life begins, in or out of the womb?

Well as a liberal I'm able to be a pro life, but not support the death penalty.... for me is both wrong.
Many "interesting" answers here, but the mean thing is, many many conservatives have abortions too.
The argument that it is always possible that inncoent people are getting executed doesn't count, as long as not their, or one of their loved ones innocent behind, is getting "fried"

It's a mistake to think of either of these as liberal vs. conservative issues. With that as the premise, there is no way for a useful dialogue with anyone who does not share your views.
People on both sides of the abortion issue have differing views of the death penalty. I can only provide you with verifiable facts about the death penalty and let you sort them out, using common sense. As you can see, there is no link between the facts about the death penalty and the abortion issue.
Re: cost
The death penalty costs far more than life in prison. The extra costs begin even before the trial.
Re: Possibility of executing an innocent person
Over 120 people on death rows have been released with evidence of their innocence. If we speed up the process we are bound to execute an innocent person.
Re: DNA
DNA evidence is available in no more than 20% of all murder cases. It is no guarantee that we will never execute an innocent person. It is human nature to make mistakes.
Re: Deterrence
The death penalty is not a deterrent. Murder rates are actually higher in states with the death penalty than in states without it. Moreover, people who kill or commit other serious crimes do not think they will be caught (if they think at all.)
Re: Alternatives
More and more states have life without parole on the books. Life without parole means what it says and is no picnic.
Re: Who gets the death penalty
The death penalty is not reserved for the “worst of the worst,” but rather for defendants with the worst lawyers. When is the last time a wealthy person was sentenced to death, let alone executed??
Re: Victims families
People should know that the death penalty is very hard on victims’ families. They must relive their ordeal in the courts and the media. Life without parole is sure, swift and rarely appealed. Some victims families who support the death penalty in principal prefer life without parole because of how the death penalty affects families like theirs.
Last of all, opposing the death penalty does not mean a person condones brutal crimes or excuses the people who commit them. I believe that the dialogue on the death penalty should be based on verifiable facts. People should make up their minds using common sense not revenge.

If only it were that simple - life would be so much easier.
"ProChoice" is a euphemism, simply because "ProAbortion" sounds so brutal and barbaric. Everyone wants to be for freedom of choice, but certainly no one wants to murder babies. And the debate goes on and on.......
The death penalty is a little more clear - either you believe some crimes warrant it, or you are opposed altogether. No gray area here.
I guess it depends on ones definition of fetus (baby? or just a clump of cells?).
It is often said that in war, one must dehumanize the enemy, and perhaps this applies also to abortion.

it's simple - abortion is a personal choice, the death penalty is not.
abortion is between a woman and her doctor, the death penalty is a decision taken on behalf of our nation.
when a woman decides to end a pregnancy with an abortion, it's her personal decision and has nothing to do with me.
when our nation decides to end a life, it reflects on all of us.
abortion - personal decision.
death penalty - national decision.
hope this helps...

I'll tell you how:
They are communistic, murderous, double standard hypocrites! They think that a child molester should be set free, and that an innocent baby should be killed! They somehow think that to kill a child molester is "revengense"!They are pure scoundrels!

Well, if they supported the death penalty, they would not be able to suck the hard working Americans who for $$$ to keep those on the Green Mile alive. They need to be able to take our money away and give to someone undeserving, don't they?
Idiots, idiots, idiots.
