The Independents caucused with the Democrats. In doing so the tally is 51-49. But Lieberman, while he said he is still a Democrat will be voting with the party on some issues and against it on others.

The "Republicans" were not in control of the Congress, even when they held the majority in both houses. They're wimps.

In truth, there are only about 4 Republicans --- the rest are Rinos.
And there's really only one Democratic---Lieberman --- the rest are Dinos, aka Socialists and Communists.

The parties have become irrelevant.

I thought Leiberman won as an independent. He said he was going to vote as a Democrat when he got into office.

Simple - because Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is a self-proclaimed Socialist. Which actually makes him a non-declared Democrat.
