If someone claims they are a minister and they never went to anykind of ministerial degree program can they asume the duties of a minister anyway. Do they have to register at the court house and make a "public statement" that they are in deed acting
as such. Does that make them "legal" to marry and bury people.

For $40, my son got a certificate at "Rose Ministries" online, stating he is a chaplain, so he could perform the ceremony for my 2nd hubby & I.
It depends on the state laws--here in WI, as long as YOU believe they have the power, then they do. But you still have to do all the legal paperwork.

Call your local clerk of courts to get the laws in your area.

If you don't get married by an ordained minister, then you really aren't married. Ordained ministers are invested power from the state to officially announce you as a married couple.

I'm not sure this is the answer you are looking for, but one example would be a justice of the peace They can perform marriage ceremonies without being ordained

Hmmm, I dont think so, but it may be possible for an ordained minister to oversee the ceremory. I know that you can become ordained online and its quick and easy...good luck

In some states in USA any person can as long as the bride and groom agree to accept you as their marriage officant.

yes. pretty much anyone can marry you. it doesnt take much.
