I see Congress is currently debating a bill to outlaw racial profiling. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070128/ap_on_go_co/congress_racial_profiling

What is it about good police work that offends some people so? Let's face it: neither a white guy in the 'hood at 2 AM or a young black guy wearing ghetto finery lurking near the gates of a gated community at 2 AM have any business there and SHOULD be stopped by police. If either is doing nothing wrong, he'll be released after the officer checks to see if there are any wants and warrants. So you get stopped, big deal!

Don't take the ability to use one's ears and eyes away from our police officers!

The PC culture will weaken this country to the point of no return. This is why our brave soldiers are being thrown in jail and having their lives put at far more of a risk than is needed. They can't do their job without fear of getting in trouble by the PC police! The Hadatha killings are a perfect example. Free those boys!

And the 2 border patrol agents who are serving for more than a decade for shooting an illegal immigrant drug dealer. Free those men!

My motto is "don't risk people's lives just so others don't get their feelings hurt"

There is no racial profiling. When a suspect in a rape, murder, assault, etc. is white, he is white damn it, and if he is black you HAVE to state that fact! How else are you going to catch him? It is imperative to question blacks, Mexicans, Asians etc. when someone of their race is being sought due to involvement in a crime. And to stop doing so is absolutely STUPID! How the hell else will you catch them? When an Amber Alert is given and they leave out the race, age, general description etc. how is it going to be effective?

And to stop checking Arabs coming in to this country is criminal at best. And if our legislators enact a bill to put a stop to it, they should be help PERSONALLY accountable for the lives that are lost as a result of it.

Last Halloween, in California a crowd of blacks nearly beat three white teen aged girls to death. The trial just ended with convictions of 9 of them. How would the police have caught them if they were unable to search for them? Are we now supposed to look for people other than the race of the perpetrators? This is ludicrous.

I am sorry but you have to have a little bit of sanity here.

It DOES work.....Its used it but you can't never say that in court testimony but there are ways around that....congress can ban it all they want but it will not go away...its too good a tool....as long as the minorities(uh-oh..PC alert) are the ones committing the majority of the crimes(I said majority...nobody said other people dont break the law...dont go into attack mode here)then spotting them as criminals will be easy and fast with profiling......live with it or get your racial fellows to go straight....

certain, you're astounding, there's a prohibition and that is on paper, notwithstanding it isn't being enforced. He needs it enforced, by technique of giving incentive to state and local police departments to limit the prcatice. notwithstanding, the motivation equipment should be very appealing in order that as that they could pay interest to it. What a lame answer, He needs more advantageous than an incentive software to enforced it. Aris

It's just another excuse by the hyper-right to intimidate and oppress people who they fear. Racism in all it's ugly glory.
