I miss my daugher terribly, I send a lot of money every month to the child support office in Texas who sends it to Georgia.

I live in texas and my daugher lives in Georgia. My daughter's mother has not contacted me for two years and my daugher used to sneak and call me when her mother was sleep however, I have not gotten a call in over a year. I send birthday cards and christmas gifts but never any reply. I have continued to send my $900 support obligation every month in spite of this. where can I get some help???? When I ask the TX child support office- they say it is Georgia's call on visitation. If I don't get any help soon= I think I may do something drastic. I hate this situation.

Is it possible for me to find out where my kid lives? If anyone can refer a good Georgia Family Lawyer, it would be appreciated.

is it because of a final restraining order or protective order that you dont know?

you need to write letters, and stop with the phone calls. phone calls are just blown off more or less, but a faxed letter, they can not deny nor ignore. they HAVE to do something about it.

write a letter; give your contact information, case number, and a short version of your problem.... asking that they do something about this violation of your rights.
1) FAX it (fax only if you want results) to the TX child support office, Gov and Attorney General
2) FAX it to the GA child support office, Gov and Attorney General.

if you want results, this is KEY and must be done.

here are the links; if there are no fax numbers listed, you will have to call them and ask for it. if they ask why, tell them you wish to fax a letter regarding your case. they may not like it, but its a public phone/fax there for you are entitled to know it. "ggod morning, i need your fax number please" usually gets it with no arguement.

if your a stalker or have some sort of protection order, they will let you know why they wont tell you where they are.

if you are not, they HAVE to tell you. if they dont, write and FAX the Regional Federal Child Support Office (links below).

get on it, and just do it. you will see some action and heat put on the case.

with some of these links you need to click on your state and find the section you need (custody, visitation, support, etc)

I live in NJ so cannot help much. My advice though would be to continue to do the right thing as you have been doing. As far as I understand, the courts look at child support and visitation as two separate issues and thus would not look favourably on you if you decided to cut the child support as you have been denied access.

I belong to a Yahoo group - NJ Alliance for parents and children. It is an online support group for people in your situation. You might want to go online to see if there is one for Georgia and get help there. Actually, going online might be your best option at this point. You can research and take it from there.

I get so angry when I read stories like yours. Too often women (and it is mostly women) try to get back at their ex-husbands/b/f by denying them access to their children. If they would just wake up and realise that, not only are they hurting their ex, they are hurting their children too.

Hang in there. Don't do anything drastic, just keep doing the right thing.

Best of luck.

hello,
thats just wrong what is being done to you.....but to help you, you need to contact the georgia child enforcement office.... they should (i say should) have an address on where your child is....you have to have the case load number and some require ssn numbers....she is your daughter and you as a parent have the right to know about her well being..if your ex has moved and child support has no record of the move it is harder to find the child due to now they have the payments going on a credit card.....so you need to contact the georgia office and from there they will be able to help you more...she cannot hold your child away from you unless you are physically abusive or have sex abuse on you...it is called parental kid napping when you with hold a child from either parent...and it does not matter where you live in order to get information on your child....you are her legal father and no state cannot denie you that right. good luck on finding your daughter my prayers are with you.

You have the right to know where your child lives UNLESS, your ex told the family court about any abuse. In that case, you don't have the right to know.
