Do some research online to find out about what to tell your child about sex at what ages. Use that as your guide. You may end up telling your child generally what it does, but leave out the details. If they ask too much, tell them you are not a doctor and therefore don't know everything about Condoms. This is in fact the truth(if you are not a doctor) and you are playing on your child;s yound mind that probably won't be able to realize that you don't have to know EVERYTHING about condoms to answer his question.

NEVER lie to your children if you want them to be honest people.

A 7-year-old's perception of the world is not the same as an adults, so ask him what he wants to know about the commercial exactly. His answer will be that of a 7-year-old's level of understanding, and may surprise you. If what he asks has nothing to do with sex, so much the better. Another tact you could take is to tell him it's just some boring thing TV people try to sell adults.

I like Angel Blue's answer. But I have a question for you. Given that these commercials should be run at a time when a 7 yr old would normally be asleep in his bed, how is that you allow your son to see these commercial in the first place. Take responsibility for what your children are exposed to.
