Is the same reason why American people watch and listen to Spears, Hilton and Fergie, the reason why Bush is in office? I fear for these kids who will grow up just to be like their parents.

See I'm thinking that American consumers vote Fergie, Paris and Brittney into the popular consciousness with their spending patterns at a rate signficantly higher than they support GWBush. If an election were held today (and if W were capable of running again) Howard Dean could beat him. At least in the case of the aforementioned divas intelligent people can agree that they are the entertainment equivalent of CheeseWhiz.

Mel, I totally agree with you, girl! Bush is in office because he practically hypnotized and comforted the nation to vote for him because he was so good and everything! Paris got popular because of her sex tape, Fergie because of her trash-talking group, the Black Eyed Peas. Britney had barely a talent when she started out in the music business and now she's just famous because she's dating a cute guy and spending $40,000 for a one nighter in a Las Vegas Sky Villa, Hugh Hefner model. She doesn't even take care of her children the right way. Any of those ladies, Fergie and Paris, and Britney, can take over as president. They're still all horrible.

Fergie is great, Paris is a dumb blonde, Britney is talented, but behaving horribly, and George Bush gets insulted every 2 seconds - They're all popular for different reasons.

Not exactly the same reasons.And btw, George Bush is not popular anymore in the real sense of the word.The problem is not only the effects they have on their kids but on the great majority bec media"rules the world".They have great impact or influence all over the world especially the young ones who copy their style or behavior.It's really kinda sad!
