I am out of school, but me and a friend were talking about this as me and her had to write 1,000 sentences once for skipping school. (We both never skipped again after that)

I had to write, "I will not erupt like an overactive volcano" five hundred times when I was in 9th grade because I kept talking in class. It shut me up for a while.

My friend and I had to write "I will not play practical jokes" 10,000 times. We were given a three day weekend to complete the sentences, we spent so much time trying to tape ten pens together and line them up just right so we could cheat that we didn't get them done, we stayed up all night the last night drinking Mountain Dew and taking NoDoz but we spend half the night throwing up from all the caffene and we got into big time trouble for not getting the assignment done.

I had to write "I will not throw snowballs" 100 times after school. My Mom was expecting me at home, the Beeotch of a teacher wouldn't let me phone and no-one at the school knew I was in Detention(she had me write it in an empty classroom other than the one I usually sat in)
Needless to say, said beeotch got a new asshole ripped for worrying my parents and was soon kicked to the curb
Lesson: Do NOT piss off an attorney/father...
On a side note, I wished for her to get cancer, everytime I finished a sentence and guess what? She died 3 years later....
MWHAHAHA, fear me.......

No, generally I was too scared and timid in school to be bad. I did have to write my name on the naughty section of the black board though once for talking in class. I think that was in Grade 4. The girl beside me, Tracy had to put her name on the board too. It was humiliating!

am still in school and sometimes in fourth period when the class is talking we write I will not talk without permission.
Till the end of class but its a easy A since you don't have to think

No. I remember doing something to someone really bad but i only had to do 30 sentences. "I will not punch a student in the lunch room"

yeah back in my country in Trinidad, they were very strict. One time I had to write 500 lines that read, "I will not talk in class while the teacher is there" I hated it and didn't finish my lines. lol

no we never had to......our scholl wasn't very stict
if we forgot our books we'd have to write out lines about 10 times!!
if we were caught chewing gum in lessons we had to scrape all the chewing gum from all the desks!! ewwww :]

I think this was mandatory punishment if you went to Catholic schools. The nuns were notorious for stuff like that.
