VFX - Visual Effects -> stuff you see like CG (computer generated) animation, actors against a Blue / Green screen
SFX - Sound Effects -> clinking, background noise, gunshots etc all fall in this category
Animation - well just the animation (drawing etc), if it's a cartoon - if not CG movies like Shrek etc,

This sounds like it's a question about a game I'm guessing?? Well if it is about a game, vfx is voice effects, sfx is sound effects, and animation must be the quality of graphics. I'm guessing that this is not even the right topic, lol. But if it is, then I hope it helped. :)
