Recently my rear defog has only been heating up the centre strip rather than the hole grid. I've checked the window itself and everything looks fine. I have checked the fuses and they are fine (I don't know how to check the relay box). The fact that it still heats up the centre line is what confuses me, if the entire grid didn't work than that would be one thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

what has happened is the small lines have been broken, any that are still hole will work the others will have to be repaired.go to an auto parts store and buy some repair fluid and use a small led test light to test each line.start from the side that works and go across each line till the light goes out ,that will be a break.you may have to check each line more than once in case it has more than one break.afterwards be more careful with cleaning the rear window

i'd not do any of the above. Chrysler products are frankly junk. The Caravan will crumple round you and grant you with various of complications. The Nissan Quest has also had various of reliability topics. Kia Sedona's are quite tremendous, yet again, the wide-spread isn't there. all of your alternatives also will depreciate quite immediately. even along with your fairly significant downpayment, turning out to be the different way up on the loan in many years will take position. With one new child, why the go with for the football mom van? you've a superbly good vehicle it is practically paid off. money is tight, so why throw it away on a vehicle you do not go with. people did manage to live to inform the tale without Minivans previous to 1984. enable himchronic that Neon til it blows up (which will be quickly), and then get him a respectable commuter vehicle. promote the 1993 Pathfinder and save your Pathfinder and pay it off andchronic it til the wheels fall off. You made a good determination procuring the Pathfinder, even as no longer the roomiest or thriftiest vehicle, it holds it fee and has been sturdy. do no longer purchase some money pit minivan you do not go with. in case you nonetheless have your heart set on a minivan, get a Toyota or Honda.

This is just a guess, but maybe there is a crack or scratch in the defog wires, it's like a DC circuit (think of old fashioned christmas lights). I don't know if they still sell them, but you used to be able to buy repair kits for that. tip for the future, be very careful when cleaning the inside of your back window, that's how most of them get ruined.

There are scratches in the metalic strips on the rear window.
It can be repaired, but it's kind of tricky.

I hear there is a repair kit for them, but I have never tried it.

Maybe someone on here knows what it's called, and where to get it.

The little two boxes that the wires come out of, check them and open them, then see if they are connected toi the main one which is the middle one.
