are the you the computers administrator ? if not you can't remove it , i have just completely un-installed my Norton because it made my com to slow , i think Norton is so powerful it is actually turning into a virus itself .

Norton software is notoriously hard to delete, which is why they developed their own removal too. Norton Removal Tool will safely and thoroughly remove Norton Antivirus and many other software programs. Below, I included the link to the tool. Be sure to read all the instructions before doing anything. It would also be a good idea to create a system restore point as well.

Go with Winston on this about using Symantec's own removal tool. As an alternative a/v I'd suggest either AVG or Avast, both free to download & excellent performers

use start run msconfig click on startup tab remove click for norton products this will stop it

if you have norton you should have norton go-back, go back a couple of weeks and should be normal as before. and if you dont have norton go-back then i dont know.
