Well it just proves that you have an open head AND MIND, even though your perceptions are just a little off. I have some gay friends and they can be blunt and straightforward AT TIMES but not all of the time and they don't have outrageous attitudes and they are just like anybody else. Just please don't stereotype people like that as it doesn't always fit the reality. My gay friends are at times full of life but they can also be very laid back, just like anybody else as well. The best answer I can give you is go on out and see if you can make a new friend, but please don't expect them to fit into the mold that you have painted here as they more than likely won't and you end up being disappointed. Just accept them for who they are and enjoy them. Some of the most fun that I've had is with my gay friends but also some of the most fun that I've had is with some of my fellow straight friends. It is nice to have a mixture of friends to keep your life interesting.
Have fun!

If you like someone just because they are gay, that is a form of stereotyping/prejudice as well. If you are searching for a 'gay buddy' based on these perceptions, you are probably going to wreck any chances of developing a real friendship because you won't be looking at the person.
Gay people run the full spectrum of society. There are those who are a lot of fun and there are those who are stiffs. There are those who are outrageous, and those who are quiet and introverted.
Look at gay people as PEOPLE.

You would be what has been termed a 'fruit fly' ;)
Seriously though, be careful not to make broad-sweeping generalizations about any group of people. People are more complex than that. Enjoy the person's company for who that person is not primarily because of his sexual orientation alone.
Maybe a gay guy feels less threatening as a friend than a straight guy or a female friend or you are a little curious? Only you can answer that.

It's not reverse anything. It's heterosexism, and it's stereotyping. By assuming that all (or even most) gay people display these qualities, you're exoticising and "othering" gay people. You wouldn't assume that all straight people share any set of qualities aside from that one quality: heterosexuality. Your perception is flawed, and while you can definitely find people who fit that bill, no one wants to be your pet homosexual. Look for just PEOPLE you like, and trust me, some of them will be gay.

WEll, it's true to an erxtent, although not all Gay people are like that. And it's a bit hard to MAKE a "Gay Friend" just by force of will: doesn't carry well if it seems like you are trying to be friends just because they're gay...

There's nothing wrong with it, as long as you truly love your friend for his personality, and not just because he is gay. There is really nothing wrong with preferring the company of gay people (or even straight people) as long as they aren't just being used as your "token gay pet."
Personally, I prefer gay men to just about anyone, including other lesbians, but that doesn't mean someone does not get to be my friend just because they are straight, or female. Just looking around my group of really close friends, the majoirty are gay males.

There is no thing such as reverse homophobia, it just means you're a really nice person. A gay person would be lucky to meet you.
