I get straight A's in college, but forewarned for most of us it really boils down to how much time and effort you're willing to spend. It does cut your social life dramatically!

First off, go to each and every class/lab every day. Unless you are really ill, make it your number one priority! Read the material that will be covered, usually profs spell it out in the course syllabus, ahead of time so that you have some knowledge of the topic and can discuss it thruought the lecture. Also, do the work as it is assigned. Don't wait till the weekend! It's really easy to let things slip, then all of a sudden you'll be overwhelmed.

Incorporate a weekly review time into your schedule. Spend an hour or so per class to go over everything you've learned during the semester. I take key points, info, formulas, etc, and put them on note cards during the term. By studying weekly, you are allready ahead of the game when it comes time to take big exams.

Lastly, utilize the t.a.'s, profs, librarians, and help centers if you are stuck on something. That's what you're paying them for.

Good luck. Even if you're not a natural whiz, I'm not!, pulling A's can be done.

Find your most effective studying style and REALLY study. The better you know your information, the more prepared, the better chance you'll get that A. Also talk to your professor's - remember, they're just people too and they have opinions and goals - so find out what they want from you as a student and how to get an A from them . Good Luck and keep up the determination.

Sleep with your teachers? LOL...JOKING! Just focus on your classes. Do the assigned reading and study. Some college professors will absolutely not give A's so you need to be prepared for that as well. Just pay attention and study your butt off!

Study constantly, don't have a job, don't go out and party, do everything professor asks of you and don't forget to do your coursework.
Make sure if something is unclear in the instructions for a project or paper to ask the professor, that's what they have office hours for and that's what you are paying them for. So use it.
