Mommy doesn't sound like she's nuts. She MAY also have a better sense of these things than you. That and she's paying for everything you have...you have no say in the matter. Think about this: what difference will wearing the silly gloves make? They don't keep your hands attatched to your arms or anything. You wear them to project something about yourself instead of just being yourself. There are bigger things in this world to fret over, this is so trivial.

Sorry, wait. You are actually depressed, or you call yourself depressed because you want to fit your stereotype? If you're really depressed, go to a doctor. If your mom is studying it, she's a good mother, and wants you to be safe and not dead. If you're "depressed" to fit your "emo" thing, you're an idiot. And you don't deserve a mother like that.

So stop complaining about the gloves and give your mom a hug. You ruined a pair of gloves already, don't ruin your family.

ask her if she trusts you And Are your actions showing anything that might get you in trouble? If its simply the way you are dressing and its not your behavior, then she should let you dress however you want and you should explain to her just that...its just how you want to dress and seeing how your actions are mature, she should not worry.

On the other hand, if you have been up to things that will get you in trouble or not safe...she may have a point. Sounds "stereotypical" but sometimes the way we look and dress can draw in people that your mother may not want you to be around.

BUT if your actions are smart and safe...she should let you dress however you want.

You and this whole emo thing sound kind of childish to me. Stop being a baby.

Learn to listen to mom, she knows best. And she only wants the best for you. She knows from experience, you have it to learn.

If you're going to do what you want anyways, why bother trying to convince her?
