The entire state of Washington has a smoking ban. No smoking inside public buildings of any kind (including bars, restaurants, hotels, etc.) and no smoking within 25 feet of entrances, vents or windows of public buildings (although this is RARELY enforced).

The law is called Clean Indoor Act. Here is a link (info is on the right):

PS - You might consider driving to one of the casinos. Tribal lands don't have to abide by the laws because they are considered a soverign nation. Casinos nearby Seattle are Muckleshoot in Auburn, Emerald Queen in Tacoma, and Tulalip in Marysville.

Sorry you have to go to Seattle. If one of my children didn't live there I wouldn't think of visiting. You cannot smoke anywhere in this city except for the casinos and they aren't convenient to the downtown( that's a stretch} area. My experience has been that if you can find a lively pub, people are packed outside the door for a smoke. That was last year. This year smoke police may roam around to keep you moving. I did manage to find a hotel room that allowed smoking but it took some doing to get one. For excitement you can visit a coffee shop , sit on the dust mite laden cushy furniture and think about how healthy it all is. you can also watch a dead fish being hurled about at the Pke Place Market. All good clean healthy fun. Just like Disneyland. Seattle is soooooooooooo pleasant and NICE If that's what you are looking for when visiting a city.

what you do is, look for cigerette butts. There is no smoking inside any where, except the indian casinos and occasional motels. Stay away from public enternaces and windows. but you can smoke in public as long as you aren't but a door or open window, there are plenty of places.

This will be a good opportunity for you all to stop smoking for good.
Seattle does not like the nasty smoke or the butts.
