i have followed the instal program and when the software checks for all settings it says it cant find a internet connection. i have time warner roadrunner cable modem with the digital phone connected to it i know the connection is good as it reads 100 mbs and showes connected. have done the retry several time and still no connection.

It's always something simple. You probably didn't power-cycle your cable modem.
1) Remove the power cord to your router and then your cable modem
2) Plug in power to you cable modem FIRST and give it 1 minute to sync up.
3) Plug in power to your router SECOND and give your router 1 minute to boot up.
4) Try to connect wirelessly - it should work now.
