Well, it is complicated, and this certainly is not the only criteria, but usually someone with a personality disorder creates a pervasive pattern of problems with the people and situations around them. They see their behavior as not the problem, because the pattern of behavior is so ingrained and is therefore ego- syntonic. They don't try to repress or otherwise hide their patterns of relating with others because they don't think there is a problem with their way of relating to the world.

There are different types of people with personality disorders ranging from people who are odd and eccentric; to those that are emotionally unstable; to those that are highly tense or anxious. Some people with personality disorders don't seem to have a conscience at all, but will take what they want from others and the situations around them without remorse.

Personality disorder affect four areas of functioning:
1. Self perception and their perception of people around them.
2. The intensity and duration of their feelings, as well as the appropriateness of these feelings to the situation causing them. E.G. being overly dramatic or emotional when the situation doesn't really warrant it
3. Their relationships with others.
4. Their ability to control their impulses.

What you have described may not be a personality disorder but a sign of low esteem and need for reassurance in their life. This also can be related to a personality disorder, but most of us have some type of personality disorder. This is not always bad but can be annoying. If stealing something to find out some truths or wrong doing in it's self is bad. Shows uncertainty, fear of disappointment, low esteem and distrust on the stealer's part. Wanting to move in after a few months is a personality of lack of self worth and the need to control someone else. This person needs help on a mental disorder psychologist level to understand why this person distrusts his surroundings and individuals. Care should be taken in dealing with control, low esteem, individuals.

If someone is breathing then they probably have some kind of personality disorder. Some are harmless, some border on criminal. Stay away from the criminal types its just going to lead to more trouble - you gotta be able to trust your partner.

ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE TO SOME DEGREE HAVE SOME PERSONALITY DISORERS?

NO ONE IS GREAT HERE! ALL DO HAVE SOME SORT OF SHORTCOMINGS AND FLAWS!

Then how to evaluate a person who has some mental disorder?

It is quite simple!

In a group of twelve people with you and the said person, if all the remaining ten people say that he is not normal then, he is 100% “nut” with the evaluation of 10 people!

If, eight people are positive on him and two only negates, he is 80% great-normal!
IF FIVE ARE FOR HIM AND FIVE OPPOSE HE IS NORMALLY NORMAL-BEING!!

IF YOU ONLY ACCUMULATE MORE FOES AND BRING MORE PROBLEMS THAN HIMSELF, ONLY “YOU”… TO BE ANALYSED!

Irrational behavior is a sure sign. Anyone who is always lying, cheating, stealing, stalking, obssessing, clingy, insecure, demeaning, violent, way too quiet, chronically unemployed, sneaky, or just flat out gives you the "creeps", is someone that you want to avoid. Get the picture?
