its been a week already. We would often wake our 90 yr old grandfather because he was always kicking and shouting in his sleep. He said that he's been having dreams about "dog chases" or "fight scenes" lately... what could be the reason behind this? we are concerned because he might also hurt himself while he is having a nightmare.

- No, but he drinks beer 3 times a day. But he's been drinking like that ever since grandma died (16 years ago.)

He's afraid of death. He is coming to terms with his own mortality. Try to reassure him of your love and how essential he is to the family.
