I recently saw someone on a news channel talking about diversity. He said that everyone talks about how we should celebrate it but he had a different opinion. He felt that while people shouldn't forget their own cultures, we should start celebrating the things we have in common in this country. What do you think?

Look where diversity has gotten us in the last forty years. I'd prefer to celebrate my own European-American culture with my own folk. It's the natural way. Leaving your own people and seeking out alien cultures to immerse yourself in is NOT natural, it is an effect of our poisonous modern media.

definitely celebrate diversity. celebrating diversity makes you more tolerant about how other people are. if we'd only be considering our commonality with other people, then how would we be able to identify with other people who we have nothing in common with. not being able to celebrate diversity gives way to racism, homophobia and religious discrimination
